Lightening strikes

It was the third week of September and my wife had flown out to California to get our daughter Barb settled into her college dorm for her freshman year. I was home alone and trying to get little projects finished up in the garage and was happy to have the peace of an empty house for the weekend.

It was a hot day and I was sweating like a pig as I swept out the garage and tried to throw out all the junk that had accumulated over the last several years when I saw the garage door across the street open up and out came Dana, my neighbors daughter that was also going to be starting college shortly, but had decided to stay at the local community college.
