Chapter 1

It is a miserable day as I walk past the theatre on St Peters Lane in Leeds, England. Heavy rain is pounding down on a cold November morning. I see her huddled up in a large oversized dark green anorak with fur trim around the hood. Her face and all features are hidden from view as if for protection against the biting wind. She is selling copies of the Big Issue indicating that she is down on her luck. Big Issue is a charity for homeless people. No one is stopping to buy, but I think that she deserved some support in this horrible climate.

" Hi , " I say, " You've chosen some good weather."

" Hello ," she replies with a hint of a eastern European accent, " yes, It is really wonderful."

Her face appears from the shadow of her hood. She has full lips and she has these wonderful round brown eyes which sparkle as she talks. Her nose is rather cute and fits in well with her high cheekbones.

" I'm Chris," I say, "Chris Webster and you are?"

" Lenka," she replies, "my name is Lenka." ...
