The party was fairly loud and not too crowded. It was an after-work drinks function in the company cafe, but few of Dave's colleagues had attended, and most of the crowd seemed to be complete strangers when he looked around, so it was no surprise that he'd started talking to Ashlee, the one woman from his office who'd made it down the three levels to the party.

Dave and Ash had always got on well, and may have even enjoyed a very minor level flirtation on occasion, but it had never gone anywhere as Dave was married and Ashlee had a boyfriend. But tonight was a little different. Somehow, about 15 minutes ago, an offhand comment from Ash had ignited a very personal discussion - it turned out that she wasn't getting much at home, less than once a month she said. Dave had opened up too, since having kids he and his wife bare made love any more.

The drinks were mostly the blame, but their mutual desire for sex was all either Dave or Ash could talk about, offering each other sympathy and advice. But both had made it quite clear they were committed to their current partners and didn't want to cheat - they were just sharing in an open and honest way.
