It had been several days since Grace had seen Professor Jackson. It was Monday morning, and he had asked her to come see him that night. She woke up to the sound of the alarm, silencing it with a loud smack and a whining sound. She was never a morning person. She pushed back the blankets and brought herself up, and her legs over the side of the bed. With one eye closed shut against the light, she stumbled her way to the bathroom and turned on the shower.

Pulling her nightgown up and over her head, she threw it into the hamper and turned to turn the shower on. As she waited for it to warm, she made quick work of brushing her teeth and going to the bathroom. Pulling back the curtains, she stepped into the shower and put her foot forward to test the water. Satisfied, she stepped under the stream and let it run over her face and neck and shoulders. She felt herself relax as she slowly woke up under the gentle stream. She massaged the shampoo into her hair, her fingers causing her scalp to tingle with sensation. Grabbing the loofah, she poured soap on it and ran it along her body, letting the water wash the soap away. She continued with her shaving and facial rinse and was about to take a shower when she thought of something. Making sure the door was locked, she turned the shower knob off and let the water run out of the faucet. Sitting down, she tested the water with her hand before scooting herself closer to the water.
