Haiku

Apparently today, Thursday 8 October 2009, is National Poetry Day in the United Kingdom. In recognition of that I thought I would attempt to write some Haiku.

Haiku is a Japanese poetic form dating from the 16th Century. It was adopted by some Anglo-American poets in the mid 19th Century and gained a level of poetic popularity with the advent of modernism in the 1st two decades of the 20th Century.

In its Anglicised form a Haiku Poem consists of three lines of five, seven and five syllables. I have written a series of Haiku Verses to convey a brief tale.
