Lacy sat quietly staring at the four walls of her hotel room. It was safe to say that her vacation trip was a bust so far. She had flown in to see her friend and spend some time with him, and even before her plane landed, he had been called back to his office for a huge meeting.

She had to take a cab to her hotel, and even dine by herself. Jeff had told her he would catch up with her later in the evening and make it up to her. He suggested that she take a walk and check out some of the local culture until he could get there. He gave her a list of local museums and art galleries near the hotel and told her to enjoy herself. Jeff told her he would call her cell when he left the office.

Lacy was disappointed, but didn't want to sit alone, so she decided to hit the town. She grabbed her purse and headed out the door. She stood waiting on the elevator, and just as the door opened and she stepped in, a small group of men came running down the hall and entered the elevator behind her. She was surrounded by six large black men, who were obviously celebrating something. From their conversation, she determined they were from a college, in town for a basketball tournament.

As the elevator made it's way down to the lobby, Lacy noticed one of the young men staring at her. Then she looked around and saw the others checking her out also. Then one of them spoke to her. ...
