Author's Note: A couple of weeks ago, I started a dialogue with another author on the site. I liked her writing and she liked mine. Being a guy, I naturally got curious and checked out her bio for a pic. She didn't have one. So I sent a message that said something like, "Hey, how about a pic?" She declined, stating a desire for anonymity, which I totally get; there's no pic on my bio either. Nonetheless, thus began a playful back and forth where I'd try to come up with novel approaches to get her to give up the goods, and she'd come up with equally novel rebuffs. I should say at this point that do to my respect for privacy, speculation and questions regarding her identity will be resolutely ignored.

So, back and forth we went; I was running out of ideas but I wasn't willing to give up - it became a challenge. I'm a truck driver by profession, and so have a lot of time by myself to think and noodle things out. It's where I work details out on my stories before I actually write them. I know, I know, "You're thinking about stories instead of the road?!" Okay, not all the time but really, all I need to do is keep the truck between two lines and not run over anything. Things get really busy, I'm back at it. So, I'm thinking about it and come up with the idea of a set of instructions on how to take the pic and still not give away who she is or what her face looks like. Even someone as camera shy as she was might go for it if it could be done and preserve her privacy. But then I thought that she might reject it simply because a set of instructions might have a command and control ...
