The alarm beeped and Sara, half-asleep, reached out to smack the snooze button. Once the beeping was over, she huddled back down under the covers. She was on the verge of sleep when it went off again. With a sigh, she reached over to turn it off and started fighting her way out from under the covers, trying not to wake Anatoli. She thought she'd managed until his arm snaked around her waist.

"Sara, you up too early." His voice was muffled against the pillow.

"I know." She gave in and turned around to cuddle next to him. "I'm sorry I woke you up."

"Is okay." He pulled her closer and rubbed her back. "I not care."

Sara drifted for a moment as his hand moved up and down her back, then forced herself awake. "Go back to sleep, Tolya." She kissed his cheek. "No reason for both of us to be up this early." ...
