"Honey!" Linda called. "Honey, can you come up here?"

"Just a sec, baby," Jerry called back from the basement workshop. "I've just got to clamp this leg." Jerry extended the clamp and carefully placed it on the leg of the chair he was gluing into the seat. He squeezed the trigger gently to as to provide enough pressure to hold the leg in place without knocking it out of kilter. He backed away, checked the angle with the adjustable square, wiped his hands on the rough canvas of his apron and looked toward the stairs.

What sort of a fix had his wife gotten into, he wondered as he strode purposefully up the stairwell. He was surprised not to find her in the kitchen, figuring she was concocting something she wanted him to taste.

"Where are you, sweetie?" he called.

"Up here," she responded from the loft where they kept a small office, complete with a telephone, desk set and their computers.

Jerry sighed quietly and began climbing the additional set of stairs to the loft. His head cleared the landing and he saw his wife had turned the chair toward him and was beaming at him as he mounted the stairs. "You screw something up on there?" he asked lightly.
