"It's a note and a check from Richard and Anna," Jerry said. "Did you tell them we weren't charging?"

"Yes, I did," Linda said, sounding quarrelsome. "I told them there would be no charge for staying with us."

"Its twelve-hundred dollars," Jerry noted. "Guess he felt the need to pay you for services rendered. Hey! That'd make you a high-priced hooker!"

"Well, what does the note say?" Linda sneered, ignoring his remark.

"'Jerry and Linda. We had a wonderful time. Please take this as a small token of our appreciation and a bribe for a future booking.' Ha. Funny guy."

"That's not his handwriting. Anna sent that," Linda said. "You must have made quite an impression. Guess you're the high-priced gigolo."

Jerry tucked the note back into the envelope and handed the check to Linda. "You're going to have to shop before Victoria and Gordon get here. Might as well use some of this. And, I'll set up a new file for ...
