Authors note: Due to the events in the story, unlike most of my others, I have had to move between character narratives, but only the once, or twice (depending how you look at it).

After watching a late night film, in which the police, as usual, caught the bad guys, and what with the time getting on for 11.30 pm, I turned the TV off, and then checked the locks on my front door, before setting the silent alarm. ‘Em, that was rather harrowing,' I thought to myself, about the film. And decided to make myself a mug of cocoa, to help me get to sleep, before once again checking the front door locks.

Feeling more at ease and secure, I made my way upstairs to the bathroom, where, having used the toilet and washed my hands afterwards, I brushed my teeth before going to my bedroom. Closing the door behind me, I deliberated what to wear as I went over to my chest of draws. And since it was a balmy night, I decided to put on my blue teddy and a beige pair of panties. Getting into my ample size bed and pulling the summer duvet cover over myself, I turned the bedside light off, and soon slipped into slumber, as my mind filled with thoughts of what it would be like to be saved from a burglar by the police.
