OFFICE AFFAIR

"Hey, Scott," Katie said, walking past the cubicle. "Can I see you in conference room two?"

"Be right there." He saved his document and leaned out of his cubicle to watch Katie walking away. She was slender, in her mid-thirties, with short blonde hair, and today she wore a plain blue skirt with a white sleeveless blouse. And earrings with a bright red stone. Katie was sexy, and most of the men in the company made wistful comments about going to bed with her, but Katie was married and never gave any hint that she was interested in anything different.

Scott picked up a notebook and checked the clock on the wall. 5:15. Around him the office was emptying out. "See you tomorrow, Tom," he said to the guy on the other side of his cube.

"Last-minute meeting, huh?" Tom was shutting his computer down. "That sucks."

"Yeah." Scott shrugged and headed for the conference room.

The door was shut. Looking around, Scott fished the key from his pocket and looked around. No one was watching--everyone was focused on leaving for the day. He knocked once. "Me," he called. ...
