After successfully managing to avoid Sandra and a repeat of our harrowing night together it was time to go back to work. This time I was headed for a much warmer climate than my previous job site. Instead of temperatures in the neighborhood of -50 degrees in Thule, Greenland, I would be enjoying the tropical sun of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands where the temperatures ran into the high 80s to mid 90s during the day and low 70s at night. A big plus, from my perspective at least, was the fact that there would be real live women on the island, some of whom would hopefully be interested in ending my dreaded virginal status.

After processing through Oakland, CA, I boarded the flight from San Francisco to Honolulu. I met up with a friend who had married and moved there and we had a great meal and enjoyed the show at Don Ho's night club. Then it was on to the hotel and bed and a very early morning flight from Hickam Air Force Base to Kwajalein the next day as part of the human cargo on a military C-141. I arrived on Kwajalein and began the local in-processing drill. After finishing my paperwork I called the base fire station to let them know I was in and they sent a unit to pick me up and get me situated in my new home for the next several months......a large open barracks with curtains for divider walls between the beds. Nope, this certainly didn't look conducive to ending my virgin status any time soon.
