Thursday night rolled around. Brenda was back from her conference, but now Kerry was away at an overnight meeting out of state. Brenda was feeling restless. Todd had just left to play hockey, and he wouldn't be back till about midnight, at the earliest. He and the boys had access to an arena in Jefferson, about 20 miles north of here, and one of the guys was always the designated driver. That was Todd's job tonight.

Brenda figured she'd watch TV for a while, then knock it off for the night. She'd just thrown on a nightie, and was about to open a bottle of Merlot, when there was a knock at the side door. She could see through the top door window it was Frank. She was about to open up, but instead she shouted just a minute, dashed to her bedroom, & threw on a floral print robe.

When she got back, she thought she'd tease Frank and shouted, "Sorry, we don't want any." He had a big grin on his face as he walked in, gave her a peck on the cheek, and said "What makes you think I'm selling anything?"

"Well, maybe not selling anything, but that bottle of wine in your hand looks kind of suspicious."

The banter was light and pleasant as Frank opened the bottle he'd brought, and then he said, "Seriously, I'm thinking we should talk... about last Saturday night." ...
