I think it was a Monday morning while sitting in class next to Brittany that she asked what I was doing for Halloween the next night. I said that I was planning to go over to the frat house for the Halloween party there. She asked what costume I was wearing and I told her I had no idea that I'd just come up with something. Brittany then told me that she, Jennifer and Renee were going to a large Halloween Keg Party dressed as Gothic chicks. She pulled a paper handout from her book bag and gave it to me. Brittany told me she thought Jennifer had finally really broken up with the black football player she'd been seeing. She said that I should come to the party and see Jennifer. I again told her that Jennifer and I were finished and that I wasn't coming over to that party. Brittany told me that Jennifer had specifically asked her to talk me into coming. She then said Jennifer really wanted to get back with me and it was killing her that I didn't want to. Brittany told me that after that night of crying all night when she found out the truth about Jackie that she'd have dropped the football player for me if I'd only made any kind of move toward her. Then Brittany said to me that she was sure we'd end up back together sometime. I just said, "Ain't gonna happen!!" I was sure she relayed that to Jennifer. The next day after class I decided I better come up with a costume for the Halloween party at the frat house. I dug a pair of hunting camouflage pants out of the drawers ...
