Thursday 25 March: Reporting to a Ms Clare Daniels, who was some several years older than me, she explained what needed to be done and left me in the capable hands of Nigel, who was both supervising and helping to dress and decorate a float for the parade.

"About two days for the bunting; after which, we have to put the mounts in place; otherwise, it would look quite bare, Jane," he intimated. Em, bare as in naked, and mount as in...I'm sure you can work out what my thoughts were.

At the end of the first day, and mainly due to our industrious work, we quite surprised ourselves with the amount we managed to accomplish.
