I know....I know...

Some lessons should have been learned long ago. The opportunities were there, chances to absorb the lessons came and went, but somehow I missed that class. If it were a snake, it would have bit me. But every time I thought I knew it all, had learned all I needed, I've been smacked upside the head, and so another time arrived and I again found out I had more to learn.

I figured that I had reached the destination, finally. It felt like a destination. It was everything I had ever wanted, everything I had dreamed about, and through the most improbable of circumstances I had landed there. It was mine, and all I had to do was relax and enjoy it for the rest of my life.

Eh, except it's not about the destination, right? It's about the journey. And I discovered to my dismay that the journey will continue.

My destination was, and is, 2546 +/- acres, as the real estate procure described it, of Wyoming ranch land. It's as close to heaven as I can imagine on this earth. The first time I saw this place I thought it should be a national park. Of course I would never in a million years be able to afford such a spread, so I bought my retirement property within a half hour drive hoping I could view this land from a distance, from time to time. Just looking at it set my heart soaring. ...
