CHAPTER 3

Steve looked idly around him. There were some mothers with their kids in tow. He waved out to a couple of them. By now he had become a familiar face at the park. Monday had passed by in a very routine manner. He had returned from the factory and then went over to the local super market for groceries. Then in the evening he had gone over to their neighbours place. On returning home he grabbed a quick dinner and called it a day. The house was too silent and empty for his liking and he didn't like to hang around much all alone the whole day long. The next day he then decided to come over to the park in the afternoon. He liked it there and watching the children at play relaxed him. But try as he would, he couldn't help wonder about the strict work regime followed at his wife's firm. All companies had their work culture and it was basically to ensure that the company got the optimum output from their manpower. But somehow things seemed to be a bit different at her firm. Just then he saw Sheila walking in his direction. She was a young art teacher. During their previous meetings she had told him that she was applying to enter a master of fine arts program at the university and was preparing a portfolio as part of her admission requirement. Her area of interest in the program was painting and drawing using the figure as her subject source.
