After the two mentioned close incidents, Roger decided to give up the source of his extra income, from which he had some modest Tax-free savings. Heading to his local library, in order to complete the application form etc, Roger, first checked out the sort of wages that basic office workers could earn, £15k a year, £288 a week, £230 after tax, which was way more than he was currently getting for 24 hours, £156 for which he paid a lower tax rate, bringing it to a difference of £100 he realised.
