Chapter 1: Spying

Everyone thinks I'm a computer whizz. And they are even more impressed since I'm a girl. But despite what you see in Hollywood movies, you can't just walk up to a computer terminal and break into the system a minute later...no matter who you are. Even if you are that Swedish girl with the dragon tattoo. Or the girl in Jurassic park (who was a boy in the book but Hollywood likes to think they are being edgy by making all their boy stereotype characters to be girls...every time).

I actually am a computer whizz. I have a PhD in computer science from MIT. So it doesn't get much whizzier in the real world. I work as a computer investigator. I go into companies where they think someone is defrauding them and I work out what is going on. My boss thinks I just somehow find my way into and around any computer system, the companies I work for pay for that. They know I'm the geek that can work out who is cheating the system and bring them to task.

But in fact I use my body.

Let me tell you a bit about it. I have a good body but not a great one. Perfect for this work. An incredibly hot body is too noticeable. I wouldn't be able to move around invisibly, everyone would remember I was there. But a good body is under the radar. People forget I was at a meeting, people forget I was even at work that day.
