"I don't know, Graham," I cautiously remarked to my husband, who had agreed, without first consulting me, to let two felons do the gardening that he had neglected to do, as part of their community service punishment.

"If it was anything serious, Davina, they would have been locked up. The way I see it, it's a means of rehabilitating them; doing things for others, unselfishly," he assuaged me.

"Okay then," I agreed, if only to get the garden sorted out.

"When, what day and time can we expect them?" I enquired, hoping it would be at the weekend, when Graham would also be here.

"Some time next Wednesday. They only work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week," he informed me.

"Well, alright, then," I said, resigning myself to the fact that I would be alone with them.

Having been dropped off by a van, and introduced to me as Clive and Andrew by their supervisor, he informed me that he would pick them back up in four hours, before biding me good day; there being several other similarly dressed men in the van I noticed as I invited my pair inside.
