Tammi and I are talking about how much the old west is celebrated although it was only about 20 years long. We are also talking about how much impact the old west had on American history.

I said, "There's an old west festival at the park next month. We can go and enjoy a day in the sun and see how close they really are."

"That kind of sounds like fun. Do something different."

"We can even see if we can put together some era style costumes."

We spent the next month searching thrift stores until we found what would work. I ended up with a pair of boots, jeans, and a flannel shirt. Tammi came up with a ruffle front shirt and a ground length skirt.

When it came time to go to the festival we got dressed and headed down. We wandered around the festival for a while looking at the displays and crafts. We decided at one point to get something to eat and find a nice place in the grass to eat it.

After enjoying our meal I lay back with my legs stretched out. There were a few people around us. We talked a few minutes then Tammi swung up to sit on my lap. When she did her skirt fanned out around her.
