That summer Mary had Janet help out with more of the business side of the club. She was ordering and inventorying the liquor and other supplies. The club had been doing great and Janet convinced Mary to close for a few days and do some much needed repairs and changes.

Everyone was given time off except Janet and Sara. They were there every day overseeing the work. They had five days to get it done and be ready for the reopening Friday night. It was a good thing they did it because the health inspector came buy the first day and almost tossed her breakfast seeing the filth that had built up over the years behind the bar and grill area.

One of the upgrades was new lights set to brighten those areas so they could be cleaned better. The woman said she would be back Friday for the final exam but she came by every day checking on the progress. The new bar went in easily after a new tile floor had been put down. All new coolers and the grill area was totally gutted and encased in stainless steel for easy cleaning. A new grill, warmers and deep fat fryers along with vents were put in. There was a new walk in cooler that could hold the entire week's supply of beer and grill supplies.
