When Simon's mother of 45 years passed away, he was sad for her loss. He was just 16 when it happened and so, what with his dad at work, they became the best of friend's; his mom helping him with his homework and studies.

He was not too enamoured, though, when, after some several months, his dad married his 27-year-old PA, Avril. Recollecting that he would sometimes get home late from work, Simon had his suspicions, unfounded though they were, that she was the reason.

Maybe because of that, he kept her at arms length, which gave him more time to spend with his best friend, Benjamin, who Simon called Ben. Many's the time since, after a day of sports activities, they would go back to Simon's. There, Avril, having been duly informed, would happily rustle up a meal to quell the young men's appetites.

During these visits, and nonetheless grateful for the meal she had cooked, Ben had felt an affinity towards his friend's young mom; there only being 10 years difference between them, while James, Simon's dad, was 12 years her senior. Ben thought of her as a hottie, something he kept to himself for obvious reasons; however, on this particular day, of all days, his feelings were about to be realised.
