I was rifling through some paperwork at my desk one afternoon when my coworker Diane stopped by to talk to me. We gossiped for a bit before she asked me what I was doing the following Saturday afternoon and evening. I told her really didn't have any plans and asked her what was up. She explained that she had a little idea but needed a little help to actually do it because she wasn't brave enough to go on her own. I asked her what the heck she was talking about and she looked over towards the front of our office where one of our receptionists was sitting at his desk. She looked over at Robert and then looked back at me and told me that his 30th birthday was coming up this weekend and that she felt kind of bad because usually whenever a birthday would come up around the office, someone would usually put together a little something at the office. Unfortunately with Robert's shyness, it probably would work out very well to have everyone gather at his desk with cake and snacks. Instead, he had a different kind of plan.
