"Excuse me!"

The voice took Ray by surprise. He had been fantasizing again. This time he was on a beach - something like the one of his last holiday - populated by nubile young women in skimpy bathing suits; not that they necessarily went in the sea. He stood up slowly, his back reminding him that he was no longer a young man and that it wasn't keen on him doing the gardening.

Seeing the concern on her face he regretted his histrionics; she seemed to look younger now and he wondered what a child was doing at an empty house.
