Story outline: Times were hard for unemployed Melanie Butterworth, that was until she saw an advert in a local paper for life models. After that, her life changed and on several levels.

Being one of the four million (according to the daily newspapers) unemployed jobseekers in England was no joke; being one who lived in London was even worse.

Melanie Butterworth had left school when she was 16. With no qualifications, save for her 3 GCSE's, she had found getting and holding a job a challenge all of its own.

Now aged 20, Melanie was still unemployed, but thankfully living in a Council flat. Money was tight, it always had been, but she had one thing to her credit, her looks, which were about to pay off in a surprisingly big way.

In addition to looking for work on the internet, at her local library, Melanie also received a free local newspaper. As she looked through the newly delivered one while she drank her second mug of breakfast tea, she noticed an advertisement for glamour models. The pay, although reasonable, was less than her jobseekers allowance, however, she decided to call the number in the advert all the same.
