I was getting ready to leave the office for the day when my boss called me over to his office and said that he needed to discuss something with me. We headed into his office and I had a seat in front of his desk while he went and sat in his chair. He began discussing some upcoming projects that our company was involved with and mentioned that he wanted me to take control of one of the bigger projects that was on hand. I had never done such a thing as I usually work alongside my coworkers on whatever projects were being done. He told me that it was a big project and that a project manager from our Chicago branch would be flying in to work with me on it. The fact that a project manager is flying in told me that this was a pretty big deal. He discussed all the details with me and told me that the project manager would be in some time in the following week and wanted me to have everything ready when he arrived. I told my boss it wouldn't be a problem and he thanked me while telling me that he knew I wouldn't let him down. I headed home and after dinner, I sat down at my home computer and began to go over some information on the project. Over the next couple of days, I did the same thing at work as I prepared everything for the project so I would be ready when the manager arrived.

The following Monday, I was sitting at my desk reviewing a few things when my boss walked in with someone else behind him.
