This has been an odd chapter to write, since those of you who have been reading my stories for years know something that everyone else does not. But soon they will...

I was driving. Mia was next to me in the passenger seat. Tee was in the back. All the packs had gone in easily, they weren't that big.

As so often happens after a day hiking, everyone except me, the driver, fell asleep. When we got to Manteca, I decided to go to In-N-Out Burger. Even though we'd shared some pizza earlier, after a day hiking with almost nothing else to eat it was time for something more. Plus, I needed a break from driving. With everyone else sleeping, there was nobody to talk to in order to stay awake.

The girls both woke up when I pulled into the parking lot and turned off the engine.

"Where are we?" Mia said.

"Manteca. As if you have a clue where that is. We're at In-N-Out Burger. You probably don't have a clue what that is either." ...
