I always feel a bit conflicted arriving in a restaurant just before it closes. On the one hand it is more business for them, but on the other it probably means everyone has to stay later until we've finished our meal. Of course, for the server, it also means another tip.

Our server looked like a student, except I didn't think there was a college in the town. She wore jeans with those little rips in that seems to be the fashion. She wore a top that left her arms bare, and a bra underneath that I could tell was light-blue since the straps were clearly visible. Her auburn hair was pulled back into a pony-tail. She was slim, not carrying any extra pounds, except for her breasts which seemed incongruously large on her beanpole frame. The badge she wore pinned just above her impressive chest said that her name was Jodie.

"The kitchen closes soon," she said, "So..." Her voice fell away, she didn't quite know how to tell a customer, who was always right, that we needed to get a move on.

"We'll be good," I said. "We won't have any appetizers."

"We already had an appetizer," Rose said.

"In the bar?" Jodie asked.

"No. In our room." ...
