One day last summer, as I was outside enjoying the weather with my little guy, I noticed a moving truck pull up in front of my parent's house. My parents owned two multi family homes on the block and they had recently had an empty apartment available to rent. I had put an ad in the local paper and my mother told me that someone had called right away and rented the apartment. As I played with my son, I saw the moving truck and assumed it was the new tenants. They parked the truck in front of the house and when they got out, I was shocked to see whom one of the guys in the truck was. I did a double take as I looked at him and realized that it was an old coworker named Thomas that I used to work with when I worked at a local pizzeria. He worked there with his brothers and it had probably been close to 15 years since I had last seen him. I worked in the pizza joint for about a year, before going to college and then starting my career.

As he got out of the truck, he looked over at me and recognized me immediately. He walked in my direction as his friends walked around to the back of the truck to start unloading things. I was sitting on the front steps of my home and got up to greet him as he walked up the pathway. After greeting each other, he told me he was moving in next door, into the third-floor apartment, and I laughed, saying it was my parent's house. We both got a kick out of it and I thought, such a small world, for this to happen.
