My book about the goings on by the regular patrons of the Senior Center in their youth was finished and I was ready to send it off to my editor, but I decided to read it one more time, looking for any typos, etc. I came across the passages about Melissa von Hallston's soap from the Limpopo River. I was intrigued and needed to find out more about the people in this village in Africa. There's wasn't much, but then I discovered an interesting dissertation by an anthropology student, Susan C. Middlefield at one of our local universities. It was written in the mid-19th century. It was so fascinating that I just couldn't put it down.

The village was a matriarchal society. The women washed their pussies with the soap. The men were addicted to it, and over the centuries, the women used their craving as a means of control.

I thought I could write about a book about these people, but I needed more information, a lot more. I had plenty of vacation time, and enough money for a trip to Africa, but was it even possible to visit this village? Before saying anything to Dan, I started making inquiries.
