PART 2

Part 1 of this saga ended with a phone call between Jennifer James and Stephen Harden. That phone call took place early on a Sunday afternoon, while Jennifer was sitting on a bench in Central Park in New York City. Jennifer's husband, Ron, sat right beside her, monitoring her end of the conversation, and trying to figure out exactly what was happening on the phone. It seemed a little weird, from what Ron could tell. Supposedly, Jennifer was going to be trying, at Ron's insistence, to get Harden to agree to let Ron make a formal presentation to Harden about the management software system that Ron was trying to sell him. She did do that, so Ron ended up happy, but something else was going on, too.

Quite by chance, Jennifer had ended up sitting through a dinner and a play with Harden, on the preceding Friday evening. By that Sunday afternoon, Jennifer was pursuing her own agenda, and Jennifer's agenda was quite different from trying to help her husband land a new client. Harden was both fabulously wealthy and pretty good looking. And he was a good conversationalist! When Jennifer realized, on that Friday, that Harden was attracted to her, Jennifer started becoming attracted right back. Really attracted. By the time of that phone call from Central Park, Jennifer could hardly contain herself. She almost couldn't believe it, but Jennifer was totally preoccupied with thoughts about Harden, and she had been since Friday night. What kind of thoughts? ...
