It was early Saturday morning, close to eight o'clock, when I pulled the car into the car park next to Julie's apartment. I had invited her to go for a drive into the countryside and had offered to pick her up so we could make a day of it. I did want to relax after another tough week at the office and, though it meant driving a couple of hours there and back, it could be fun, I thought. If she was running on time.
