This past October, I threw a small birthday party for my husband, who was turning 40. I asked him what he wanted to do and since we could only have a few people over because of everything that's going on in the world, he told me to just invite a couple of his closest friends, to hang out and have a few drinks. I set everything up, and everyone agreed to come, including his very close friend Michael. My husband and Michael, had been friends for well over 20 years, and I knew Michael as well from my old high school days.

On the day of the party, the weather forecast wasn't very good. We were supposed to get hit with a nor'easter, and I had contemplated rescheduling the party, but everyone was cool with hanging out since they lived nearby. The only one, who had to travel, was Michael because he had moved down the shore with his wife and kid's, and was about an hour and a half away from us. I didn't think he would come, because of the weather, but he decided to anyway. Personally, I think everyone just wanted to get out of their houses for the day, since it's been such a long year.

I set up the dining room, and ordered some food, as the guests began to arrive. It was only six of us, and we spent the afternoon hanging out, eating, and enjoying a few drinks. As everyone enjoyed the small party, the weather began to turn, and it began to get windy and rainy. We all continued to hang out, but eventually, some of the guests decided to leave.
