There was no other alternative for Rebecca's quandary. She had to either downsize to an apartment or let out one of the two spare rooms to a lodger.

Deciding on the second as being the only feasible option to that of moving, she placed a notice in several local shops.

Days went by without anyone calling her mobile. Had she set the rent too high, she wondered, only to receive a call from a young sounding man on Friday afternoon. Managing to quell her enthusiasm at his interest, she invited him to her home the following morning.

Bright and early, the sun shining in a clear azure sky, Francis made his way over to Rebecca's house, knocking on the door a couple of times and waiting.

‘He's early,' Rebecca noticed from the lounge clock, getting up and going to let him in,

"Hi," she said softly, hand holding the glass fronted door halfway open.

"I'm Francis," he introduced himself to her, a warm cheery smile on his face.
