Rockstar Series : The Model

This account relates to the launch party for a heavy metal album by a British 'Black Country' rock band in the early eighties.

The band were a NBOHM (New wave of British Heavy Metal) band - it was NOT the more famous Diamond Head and this was I think their second album. They were very Black Sabbath influenced, very famous locally and their fame had probably spread mildly beyond the UK. Their body of work is still available on CD and other streaming platforms.

I am not naming the band, the album or the 'page three' (UK Sun newspaper) model who adorned it's cover. It's not easily found on google - I just tried, pretending I didn't know the names. This cover photo was based around witch trials c 1600's and is set in a churchyard.

So, as I said, I am about to tell you about the launch party for this record, it was not a lavish affair, taking place as it did in a function room at the back of a pub in Stourbridge, paid for by the record company. The record company, however, was a tiny concern and even the so called "executives" in their suits didn't really have any SERIOUS money.
