Year four concluded.
The September conference.
Gerard.
During the September conference this year, Jan hooked up with a French guy by the name of Gerard. The slender, smartly dressed guy was of medium height with brown eyes and hair. Alighting from the car, Jan stood looking back along the road, hoping a ‘good Samaritan' would soon appear. Many vehicles flashed past, however, until a van driver braked hard to pull into the lay-by in front of Jan's car.
"Problem?" the guy asked, walking towards her.
Jan explained her predicament and asked if he could help her. The guy asked if she had a petrol car in the car, and Jan replied in the negative.
"I suppose I'll have to buy one at the nearest service station if you could give me a lift."
The guy told Jan he had a can in the back of his van she could use and save the expense of buying one.
"That's great! I'm really grateful."
Opening the car door, Jan sat sideways in the seat to retrieve her bag from the rear. Straightening up, it was to see the guy staring intently at her legs, Jan's skirt having ridden up while she reached over for her bag.
"I'm wondering now, just how grateful you are," the guy told Jan, making no secret of his interest in her legs.
"Oh, I'm very grateful indeed," she replied, realising he could see her stocking tops and instinctively knowing where the conversation was heading.
"Grateful enough to hitch your skirt higher so I can see your knickers?"
A quick look showed Jan that the road was temporarily clear of vehicles, so she hitched the hem of her skirt up as far as possible. She heard his sharp intake of breath on seeing her thong, something Jan would normally only wear for a sexual encounter and not the drive home.
