Part 5 This is written from an English perspective about College fun in the USA. The author has spent considerable time in the USA since the 1980's both on business and vacation, so has a good, but not perfect, level of understanding and experience. This is still only a fantasy and may not be truly reflective and accurate in every respect. Part 1 outlines the characters and background to Pete's exchange visit to America and part 2 develops the relationships further and in Part 3 Pete has an experience he is never going to forget that is until in Part 4 when he gets another surprise. The next day was the last day of the term and for Pete it was a short day with everyone leaving right after lunch. The morning was taken up with a big assembly with presentations to class prize winners, singing by the college choir and the college band playing. Lots of cheering and whooping, all a bit over the top for Pete's taste, but as he was learning they did things in a very different way in America. Finally there were goodbye elegies to staff that were leaving and to close it all a big celebration piece from the seniors that were leaving, that he had managed to avoid being involved with, after all he was just a visitor and it was their day.

After the assembly there were lots of hugs and goodbyes. Pete seemed to only need to stand there and just about every senior girl lined up to ...
