The wind was cold when she got out of the car. But it was only a few feet through the snow to the door to the cabin. Pushing the door open she realized the fire had gone out and it was beginning to cool off inside the large open room that encompassed the whole downstairs. Setting the bags of supplies on the table, she began to pull off her coat and gloves. Tossing them aside, she went back to the large fireplace. Raking over the still glowing coals, laid fresh kindling and blew gently until the flicker of a small flame could be seen. Laying on small branches until they caught, she placed a log to the back. Sitting back on her heels, satisfied that the fire would soon be blazing.

She stood up and went back to the kitchen to put the things away...and started the evening meal. As it began to darken outside she heard the unmistakable sound of his truck stopping in the drive. Smiling she walked over to the door and opened it. He stepped out and saw her standing in the doorway, backlit by the soft interior lights. The sight of him standing in the snow took her breath away. She felt a curious weakness in her knees...and her heart was pounding. It was amazing that he had this effect on her every time she saw him. Even after all this time.

He stomped his feet as he stepped onto the porch, knocking off the snow. Smiling at her he said, "Hi baby, how was your day?" She took his hand and pulled him inside, closing the door behind them. Tugging at the lapels of his jacket she kissed him as he leaned closer. Smiling she ...
