The First Outing, part 7: Transition

They walked out of the shoe store to find a bench to allow her the opportunity to put on her new sandals. They found one fairly close and she sat and pulled out her footwear. In order to give her room to move, he sat across from her on the edge of a planter box. This left him slightly higher than her in a sitting position, and he used this moment to check the tape. He found it running precariously low and changed it.

While testing the tape transfer, he held the camera before him to make sure the new tape and camera was in working order. He had also changed the battery and wanted to make sure there were no little annoying icons telling him it wasn’t seated correctly or that the tape was misaligned. As he peered through the view screen he noticed her working on one of her new sandals. He had been paying more attention to the actual screen itself and not the view, but when he realized her position, he began to pay much more attention to the view. She had one knee up, perching her foot on the edge of the bench to be able to reach her entire foot and ankle more easily. This position allowed her to slide the shoe on and then brace it against the bench while lacing it around her ankle. It also pushed her skirt up.
