REDUCED TO THE RANKS

I began to wonder whether there was a pattern or a purpose to my years of servitude as the Brigadier's slave. Was I being systematically trained or developed for some ultimate end that was still opaque to me? Or was I just the object of random experiments by a dominant male for his own pleasure?
