One thing that brought Raj and his wife Shoba together was their common passion for theatre. Even after they got married they managed to find time to attend rehearsals at a local group. Then one day, as luck would have it, they were introduced to a popular drama group with recognized artists for a major play. This was the chance that they had both been secretly dreaming of.

Within their fist meeting with the group, they realized that they stood a better chance of getting significant roles if they kept their marriage a secret. They were proved right as Raj was selected for a major character role. Shoba did even better. She got to play opposite the male hero. They were both very excited. They couldn't believe they were actually going to work with those artists whom they admired and knew only from having watched and adored at shows.

Then the rehearsals started and took up a major chunk of their free time. They however mingled easily with the group and left not even the slightest hint that they were actually husband and wife. In fact they would both feel secretly embarrassed when some of the actors would make open passes at Shoba, proposing to drop her home after rehearsal or to help her with her lines.
