As a college student going into communications, my future career goals require that I have experience before entering the work force. Because of this, I try to do a couple of internships a year, and, as a result, I move all over the country for these internships. Last summer, I did one out in East Bumblefuck, also known as Way-The-Hell-Out-In-The-Middle-of-Nowhere, Florida. I was really pissed, because I had just finished a really awesome internship at a major television network in Los Angeles, and now I was working local hick news on the opposite coast. But my academic advisor really pulled some strings to get me this internship that would allow me to actually produce segments of the local evening news. As a college senior, I had more paper qualifications than a few of the people actually working on the show, but they had more real world experience, which is what I needed.

Anyway, my story opens a couple weeks after I moved into this little Florida town. My little brother and I had driven all my stuff down to the tiny little sublet that I was renting for 3 months. After my brother left the next day, I got the same familiar feeling of loneliness that creeps up on me when I move to a place where I don't know a soul. That week at work, I met a lot of people, and a group of the girls offered to take me to a couple of the bars and clubs they frequented.
