New Year’s Eve

The party was already in full swing an hour and a half before midnight and most of the revelers were too drunk to walk, much less drive themselves anywhere.

She’d had only two drinks since she’d gotten there two hours before, and she was still nursing the second one. She stood against the wall by the punchbowl, surveying the crowd and trying very hard not to feel too self-conscious about the outfit she was wearing.

Her roommate had suggested it; a skimpy leopard-print spandex thing that started halfway down her chest and stopped about 5 inches below her crotch and was tighter than her own skin. Her roommate had also suggested no bra and a G-string to keep the undergarment lines to a minimum. So there she stood, all alone in her killer dress and heels, sipping her cup of punch and trying to ignore the little string that was cutting into her.

She scanned the room again, looking for someone she’d hoped would be there. He was one of the computer technicians from one of the lower floors, and she’d met him about a month earlier when her workstation had gone on the fritz.
