Samantha was a highschool senior. She was barely eighteen by a few days and she suddenly found herself single. A few days before her birthday, her boyfriend had called to tell her that he was running off to join the Marine Corps and wanted to break off their relationship. This of course totaly ruined her birthday.

She was walking around at school during lunch a few days after she tuned 18, staring down at the ground, trying not to break down and cry. She was now an adult and the guy she was figuring on marrying was gone. She felt like she had just been thrown out like so much garbage.
