Friday night.

Whew, the week is done, time to go out and get loose. Being fairly new in town, I don't know many folks so I thought I'd just go out. I got a bit to eat At my apartment and climbed into my trusty 510 and set out to blow off steam.

The bar I went to was in a strip mall down a flight of stairs into smokey dark place. The music was pouring up the stairs at a throbbing beat. Late ‘70's and early ‘80s rock, Police, Skynard, Cars that sort of thing. Loud danceable stuff. I shuffled down the stairs and saw a row of stools outside of the main floor, looked like kind of a staging area. 4 stools and a rectangular opening that gave one a view of the inside of the bar. The smell of smoke, perfume and liquor permeated the air. The band was close to the end of their first set.

I pulled up a seat at the end of the row, and peered into the main floor. It was dimly lit and the corners were almost black. Being that it was Friday, the interior was crowded with people guys and gals, around the tables. Conversations were buzzing under the blasting music.
