This was the first m/m story ever entered in the Continuation Story (CS) challenge, a general sex-story challenge (cschallenge.tripod.com). And it won. The judges all gave it 88 to 97 out of 100 points. For comparison, the other three stories, all m/f, had an average score of 82, 70, and 70.

The CS challenge requires that the story incorporate a particular passage, word for word, prewritten by the winner of the previous round. I figured that I could start with almost any innocent scene and wind up thinking about gay sex. Happens to me all the time in real life, after all. When I read the assigned Original Section, I was momentarily discouraged, since this round it was a "morning after" scene. However, I soon realized that its writer had very notably refrained from mentioning the sex of one of the characters, and the viewpoint character was male.

All the other stories, unsurprisingly, chose to make his bedmate female, although I must say that I was impressed that none of my competitors made the obvious choices to explain why all the characters are doing what they're doing. Each had its own little twist.
