It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in Chicago as Debbie headed toward O'Hare International. Her trip was the culmination of months of Internet correspondence between she and David. He was traveling through Chicago and arranged his connecting flights such that he had an afternoon flight in and a morning flight out. Debbie was eager to take the opportunity to meet him face-to-face for the first time. Her nervous energy was causing her to squirm in her seat. She felt she knew him well from all the email discussions and sharing that had taken place, but the reality of up close and personal was making her a bit anxious. She fidgeted with her hair and her dress as she kept one eye on the traffic and one on her reflection in the mirror. She wanted to make sure everything was just right for their first date. Thoughts were flying through her brain...Would he recognize her? Would he approve? Would they get along as famously in person as they have in cyberspace? She felt like a schoolgirl awaiting her first prom date. Silly girl! You have nothing to be nervous about.

She exited the Interstate to O'Hare and motored to the United terminal for arriving passengers from Oklahoma City. She pulled into the lower level parking and stepped from her car. She straightened her skirt and blouse and pulled her contact mirror to check her lipstick and makeup. As good as it's gonna get, she thought to herself, and hurried to the terminal arrival gates. She wanted to be there at the door waiting when David arrived.
