Johnny and I had been friends for years, having lived next door to one another since third grade. We'd done it all together...homework, fights, girls. We'd become more like brothers then friends. It wasn't until we were 18 and graduating from high school that we began to go our separate ways. John had opted for a military career and had gone into the marines.
